The Flight of the Rook

Personal piece done for a pivotal scene in a tense D&D session. Being as our party was stealing a prototype airship from an ostentatious empire I strove to design it like a first shot might have been, an actual ship frame that was repurposed into flight. Not intended for seafaring any longer the lower hull is exposed showing all the makeshift ironworks that gnomes have been conscripted to make. I wanted to convey the sense of grandeur and power this empire would likely want to convey as their "flying snake" took to the skies. It's powered by an elemental so I had fun in imagining what kind of thrust system you could get out of a power source like that.

The title says "Rook" as the captain, a crow, has deemed it's new name to be that.
